Part of history. Part of scotland.

Glenfeshie Lodge was built by the Grants of Ballindaloch in the early 1800‘s. With the introduction of the Highland railroad to Kingussie in 1865 it became part of the Victorians’ playground, operating as an exclusive hunting lodge. Entering through the old front door of the lodge you’ll experience two simultaneous feelings. The first is pure excitement about stepping into a living part of Scottish history. Perfectly kept. The second is the one of letting go of whatever was on your mind and instead preparing it to take in the calm of the house and prepare for complete relaxation.

Over the years the solid stone walls have sheltered many personalities from the cold winter storms and rainy Highland days. It is said Queen Victoria lived here for some time during a fling with the painter Sir Edwin Landseer who at that time  was making studies for his famous ‘Monarch of the Glen’ painting. In modern times the lodge has welcomed the cast of TV shows like ‘The Crown’ and films such as ‘The Queen’.
