 the wild: our greatest asset

Glenfeshie sits within the heart of the Cairngorm National Park - an internationally significant destination for biodiversity and ecological restoration. The estate is home to a huge array of life, with over 5,000 species recorded here and 20% of those are classed as ‘nationally rare’ or ‘scarce’. Eagles, wildcats, pine martens, ospreys, black grouse, ptarmigan, otters, lapwings, tooth-fungi and many more species make their home here. In 2016 the forests in the Cairngorms were habitat to half the UK’s population of male capercaillie - the world’s largest grouse and a bird under serious threat in Britain.

Glenfeshie is part of WildLand Limited, an ambitious private organisation working to preserve and regenerate vast swathes of wilderness across Scotland. By staying in one of the Glenfeshie cottages or the lodge you are making a real contribution to our work regarding the conservation and restoration projects we have undertaken.

the best things in life are not things.

There’s something about spending real, meaningful time in nature. It clears the head, it calms the soul, and refreshes the spirit. Here, in amongst the trees and the little nooks, you can breathe deeply - perhaps for the first time in a long while - and leave the rush of the outside world behind. Imagine being surrounded by beauty and wildlife. Hiking in the hills, freewheeling down a dirt track, swimming in an icy river, gazing up at the sky as a bird of prey soars high above – this is what freedom feels like.

Staying at Glenfeshie is not just an investment in yourself and self-care. Each and every guest is contributing to an ambitious programme of rewilding and conservation across the estate and our wider portfolio. As you traverse the estate you’ll see new, young trees springing to life. This is no accident - it’s part of a 200-year vision for natural regeneration in this special glen.
